The lounge chair adjustment to change the chair's rest angle is manual - there is a wheel under the chair that you must turn to loosen up the locking device for the chair's position. Once you loosen & adjust the chair angle for comfort, then you tighten the wheel back to lock in your chair's position. I purchased 1 & liked it so much that I purchased another.

(More customer reviews)This chair is poorly made. Out of the box, the fabric is puckering at the seams down the front of the arms. The front panel of the seat cushion is not evenly sewn, which makes the cushion rise up more in one area of the front, rather than be even across. The fabric is cheap and smelly. The suede has an odd pile - the seat cushion is much higher pile than the seat back, making it look almost two different colors. I do not know how they got this chair to look so good in the photo - must have been a lot of photoshop. Also, the color is a brighter green than it appeared on my monitor, but I am not taking stars off for that as that is typical with internet shopping. The description is inaccurate - there is no gliding mechanism, only rocking and reclining. I thought for the high price tag that I would be getting quality construction. Now I am stuck - don't buy this chair.

I could used a tiny bit more cushion and their are no zippers on any of the covers to wash them. I will probably end up adding a bit more cushion and some zippers. (More customer reviews)I am relatively happy with this chair, but this wasn't the perfect recliner that I had been hoping for. In the spirit of full disclosure:
- First of all, shipping was over $80 (to IL), so the price listed is a bit misleading.
- The cushions are comfortable, but thin and rather stiff. Don't expect to sink into soft, cushy, leatherette heaven when sitting down.
- Finally, and most importantly, the recliner does not recline particularly far. You won't get anywhere near horizontal on this chair. It's comfortable, but think "economy airline seat" with respect to the angle to which it reclines. This chair is primarily a rocker- and it performs exellently in this respect.
Negatives aside, it's a fine chair. It seems to be very solidly built. It ships fast and is a comfortable rocker. My pets fight to nap on it. I risked ordering the "plum" color, because I wanted a darker chair that would fit in with a dark brown decor. It turns out that the "plum" color is essentially dark brown- with no hint of purple or red- which was perfect for me.
If you are not bothered by any of the issues I described above, then it would certainly be a solid choice.

(More customer reviews)I decided against a glider since they are all pretty ugly and then last minute got this one. I love it. It is super comfortable and wonderful even while in late pregnancy. Glide is very smooth. The look it a teeny bit more contemporary so that is good. Not so old fashioned. Only complaint is that the material is really cheap and not very nice. However, for the amount of money I paid I am okay with it. Good value for certain. It came in a lot of parts which annoyed my husband but he seemed able to assemble it within 1 hour.

It was relatively easy to put together, has a good appearance, and operates relatively smoothly with the only exception of an almost imperceptable click as it glides back to the starting position. The chair is relatively lightweight and appears to be designed well. It was much less expensive online than similar products were priced in the stores that I visited. The only drawback was that the chair was lost during shipment and amazon had to reorder it for me, which they did immediately upon being notified of the shipping problem. I am happy with the purchase overall and would recommend the chair.

(More customer reviews)The doorbell rang, and I was home alone during a hideous rainstorm. UPS had delivered the chair, and the package was being drenched as the driver sprinted away ignoring my cry for help. The box was bigger than me, yet, 95-lb weakling that I am, I was able to drag it through the door. I was even able to easily get the chair pieces upstairs by myself, and within a half hour the chair was complete. Not being handy, I appreciated that this required minimal construction, just 6 easy steps. It actually took me longer to cut up all the cardboard packaging than it did to assemble the chair.
It's exactly as pictured, and the craftmanship is quite good, considering the price. Before ordering this, I visited Target to see their glider in person, and I think this is better made. The dimensions (accurately represented on Amazon) are perfect for a petite person like me. For me, the back cushion feels better placed upside down, so the thickest part is at the base. Looks a bit strange like that but I don't care because at 4' 11" it's hard to get a chair that is comfortable. I also place a small pillow for extra cushioning at the back. One thing to watch out for if you are an expectant or new mother buying this for a nursery, it smells really toxic for the first few days, but then the odor dissipates. Suggest you have a friend or relative construct the chair in a part of the house where you aren't until the toxic cloud drifts away.
This wasn't purchased for a nursery, just a comfortable chair to watch movies in and read books. I bought the natural-finished model.

(More customer reviews)After much research and the advice of BabyBargains, we decided to go with a Shermag but this lower end version. However it is great. It took my husband about 20-30 minutes to put it together. It looks great and matches our nursery furniture perfectly. I wanted a higher back to rest my head while feeding the baby. This chair is perfect. I am 5'7 and my husband is 6'. He fits very comfortable. I wish the cushions came in differnt colors as I think this will be hard to keep clean with a baby, but I just covered it with a pretty blanket that will hopefully catch any spills. I think it make a great addition to a nursery. We have have ahad it for a few weeks, but our Baby is due in Feb. So far so good.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this chair in May 2010 right before my son was born. I bought it because it seemed like such a good price and it was the same color and brand as my changing table. Well first off we had a hard time putting it together because a couple of the assembly holes were drilled wrong and didn't match up. Luckily my husband is a handy guy and just drilled new holes to make it work. My biggest complaint is it squeaks! I have to oil it at least once a week. Of course it always starts squeaking when I am nursing and rocking my baby to sleep. I wish I would have spent more money for a better quality chair.

(More customer reviews)My expectations for this glider weren't all that high, considering we purchased it for a fairly low price, but I was still disappointed. The main issue is that the construction of the bottom where the swivel/glider mechanism attaches is very poor, so when you sit in the chair it leans forward and to the left (even if you make a point to lean back and right as you sit). It also is so low to the ground that it doesn't let you glide very far. The chair also seems to be made with a cheap foam filling that probably won't hold up to heavy usage, though we are returning it so I won't be testing that out. It looks nice, but if you are actually planning to sit in it regularly I wouldn't recommend this chair.

I looked everywhere for a glider that was both within my budget and really comfortable. I had fallen in love with another Dutailier model that was almost three times the price and ever since, have been wanting a glider that also reclines. This one fits the bill. It's comfortable, easy to assemble and reclines (and you can glide while reclining - not all models allow for that feature). It's not the most attractive chair, but most of the gliders are relatively ugly (IMO), though it's not the worst looking one I have seen either. You can definitely tell that it is on the low end of Dutailier's line: the cushions and fabric, while comfortable, feel somewhat cheap and get very hot (my back sweats if it's the least bit warm in the house), and the chair rocks more than it glides, which is not true of some of the more expensive models. Nevertheless, if you are not in the market for $1500 glider, this is a good choice.
My baby is now 4 months old and we still use this chair regularly and both my husband and I find it extremely comfortable.
