(More customer reviews)Item was received damaged. Two pieces on the back side of the backrest had been broken off in shipment which compromised the wood on the backrest. Also, one of the pre-drilled holes on the base was absent. The wood is also of varying quality. It wasn't bad but the wood is not as pristine as the product shot. I ordered a replacement and will try one more time before giving up on this.
UPDATE: The item was again received damaged, but it was minor and in an inconspicuous place so I just glued the wood back together. The problem this time is that halfway through assembly we found that the slats for the backrest did not fit into the predrilled holes in the arms. I believe the back was assembled wrong, as the arms look just like they look in the picture. I give up. Amazon should pull this item. Customer service was very good but dealing with this was a total waste of two weekends.

(More customer reviews)When my husband and brother put the glider together, they complained a bit about the lack of quality directions (yes, some men do actually read the directions, which was a surprise to me too!) but they really didn't have much trouble getting it together. We live in a rustic home in the mountains so it looks absolutely wonderful on our front porch. It not only looks great but it glides so smoothly it hard to be anywhere else when we're home. We especially liked that it's made in America and the price was unbeatable! I highly recommend this item!!

This spacious 6' Western Red Cedar Settee Glider comfortably seats two with a small table. Each seat glides independently, while the table in the middle stays still. The wood settee is 34-1/2" high x 72" wide x 27" deep. Each glider is shipped partially assembled, with easy to follow instructions. The center table has built-in cup holders on the top of the table, just like our side table. The dual seats are comfortably contoured for comfort. Our gliders have ball-bearing glider mechanisms for smooth gliding action. All of our patio furniture products are made from natural Western Red Cedar with non-staining hardware. Cedar is lightweight, dimensionally stable, and naturally resistant to splitting, cupping, and warping. Western Red Cedar gives our patio furniture strength, beauty & natural resistance to the elements. We offer 2, 4' and 5' wide gliders, which fits easily on the patio or porch. Each piece is ready for staining, clear finish or simply leave natural. An oil or clear finish with UV light protection will bring out the beauty of the grain and a bit of red tinge in the wood. If the Western Red Cedar is left natural, it will weather to an unpretentious gray. Are you thinking about a finish? A very traditional rustic look can be done with polyurethane with UV light protection. This will slightly darken the wood while bringing out a bit of red tinge found in the grain. Stains are easy to apply, can come in almost any color and do look great. An alternative finish is an opaque stain, which looks like paint, but doesn't chip or peel as can happen with paint. You should apply a finish that will waterproof the wood, and prevent water spots & stains from ruining the look of the wood. Please consult your local paint expert, as there are always new products coming onto the market.
