(More customer reviews)Item was received damaged. Two pieces on the back side of the backrest had been broken off in shipment which compromised the wood on the backrest. Also, one of the pre-drilled holes on the base was absent. The wood is also of varying quality. It wasn't bad but the wood is not as pristine as the product shot. I ordered a replacement and will try one more time before giving up on this.
UPDATE: The item was again received damaged, but it was minor and in an inconspicuous place so I just glued the wood back together. The problem this time is that halfway through assembly we found that the slats for the backrest did not fit into the predrilled holes in the arms. I believe the back was assembled wrong, as the arms look just like they look in the picture. I give up. Amazon should pull this item. Customer service was very good but dealing with this was a total waste of two weekends.

(More customer reviews)When my husband and brother put the glider together, they complained a bit about the lack of quality directions (yes, some men do actually read the directions, which was a surprise to me too!) but they really didn't have much trouble getting it together. We live in a rustic home in the mountains so it looks absolutely wonderful on our front porch. It not only looks great but it glides so smoothly it hard to be anywhere else when we're home. We especially liked that it's made in America and the price was unbeatable! I highly recommend this item!!

This spacious 6' Western Red Cedar Settee Glider comfortably seats two with a small table. Each seat glides independently, while the table in the middle stays still. The wood settee is 34-1/2" high x 72" wide x 27" deep. Each glider is shipped partially assembled, with easy to follow instructions. The center table has built-in cup holders on the top of the table, just like our side table. The dual seats are comfortably contoured for comfort. (More customer reviews)I put this glider together, by myself, during a snow storm. I plan to keep it on my porch, so I decided to have faith that spring was indeed coming.
The parts went together easily, even putting it together alone. The only complaint is that the screws required a square-ended tool and I only had screwdrivers and hex keys. I managed, though.
It is very comfortable and I look forward to using it often when the weather warms.

(More customer reviews)As was mentioned before, this is not a varnished piece of furniture, so don't believe the picture -- just the description, which states that it has a stained finish. That said, I think this glider is outstanding for the price. It comes in 8 main pieces (assembled seat base, assembled seat back, two seat arms, two glider base feet, and two glider base crossbars) which all have to be put together. Tools required for this task are: a hammer, an adjustable wrench (or two non-adjustable, open-ended wrenches), a decent drill driver, and a Robertson screwdriver bit. The last is very important, as there are several 4" long wood screws need to be driven into the base, all of which are Robertson type screws (have a small, square head in the middle). These COULD be driven in by hand if you're incredibly patient, but save yourself the frustration and just get a bit for your drill driver.
I was able to put this together alone using some ingenuity and a bit of luck, but it would help to have another person to help, as there are some pieces that require someone to hold them up while you bolt them together.
Once finished, though, you're left with a great wooden glider that's sturdy enough to hold even very heavy people with ease. It looks incredible. The wood smells heavenly. And I'm sure it will stand the test of time.
