We use it with a glider because a friend recommend a stool like this over the expensive gliding ottoman. I think it was a good choice and saved us some money. My wife's only complaint about the stool is that it is a little slippery when she is wearing socks.

(More customer reviews)It looks a lot better in the picture. I thought it would be very soft and comfortable. It is stuffed with a type of foam that leaves a dent for a while after you sit or put your feet on the stool. It does rock and swivel smooth enough, but the recline could be easier. Fairly easy to put together.
Edit!!!! I have had the chair for less than a year, and now the chair is BROKEN! I called ATHOMEMART to get a replacement and he said "I chose to do nothing". At Home Mart will NOT stand behind their products! DO NOT BUY FROM At Home Mart!!!!!!!

(More customer reviews)I recently purchased a Shermag glider, and I was really disappointed with the quality. The moving parts were all painted over, and I hoped this was a one time mess up and ordered another, and then another. When the chair "glides" it makes crackling noises as the paint chips off. After three Shermag gliders with the same problems I think we have serious manufacturing problems. Hubby and I have spent HOURS trying to scrape the paint off the metal parts, but unfortunately we cannot get to the paint out of the small crevices. I hope that with time the sounds will get less because my contact with Shermag has not yielded any response yet. In addition, one of the three chairs had a broken chair back. I would not buy this again.

(More customer reviews)We are really impressed with this chair. Looks good and feels good to set in. Can't find a chair like it in the local furniture stores. Chair pad is very comfortable. The pad goes over the sides of the chair arms so arms and hands are not resting on hard wood. Chair is works really well for rocking or nursing new baby.
As other users mentioned, the directions for the arms are reversed, but because we read other users reviews we were able to assemble chair with no problem. The locking feature is great for kids, but we have found that it locks up on its own if a heavier person (250+ pounds) is rocking in the chair.

(More customer reviews)I have had this chair for almost 2 years now, I thought it is a good amount of time to come back and review it. It was easy to put together and holds up well under use. We have found that it isn't the most comfortable for people who are taller who have back trouble. The padding is fairly stiff and therefore doesn't conform to your body shape at all- just stays in it's own shape while you're in it. If we put a couch pillow (throw pillow- not large pillow!) where our lower lumbar area is, it makes the support much better for us. We also use a blanket on the top for some more head support. I'd have liked a bit more give in the cushion, but hey- it is durable, we have been able to work with it ok with the pillow/blanket additions for support. We don't use the ottoman, so I can't comment on that. We've spent hours in this chair from the time our little one was a newborn. The arms of the chair help hold a Boppy Pillow well if you're nursing

(More customer reviews)between sales and other promotions i paid about $100 before S&H. ordered on Aug 29th, supposedly back ordered so didnt expect it until October, but received it this morning.
i'm 9mo prego and i put it together myself, just had to attach the back, arms, and cushions (the arm cushions were the hardest part).
it did come with scuff marks, chips, and the yellow glue on the wood, but some of the dirt came off with wet paper towel, and the scuffs and chips i covered with a white french manicure pen...no big deal. many of the brass colored screws and bolts are visible (there are 2 on each side where the arm connects to the base), it looks cheap, just like almost any piece of wood painted in white, but the cushions are a nice beige/light tan color and its nice feeling material.
when i tried it out i freaked a little cuz it made a cracking sound, but i think it was just the base settling like wood does. if you have big hips/thighs like i do it seems a bit tight, but once the baby comes out and i can drop a few lbs getting back to my under 200 lb normal weight it'll be fine.
