They're round pieces of metal which would work GREAT if they weren't held to the rack by metal pins. The metal pins stick out of the gliders and SCRATCH and TEAR your felt. The gliders are supposed protect your felt NOT MESS IT UP! Great idea but POORLY executed.

TW-742 Sky Hawk RTR RC Electric Airplane Review

(More customer reviews)The TW-742 Shy Hawk electric powered glider is NOT a toy. It is a powerful flying model weighing about a pound and a half (600g). The two piece styrofoam wing has a wing span of about 45 1/2 inches (1160mm)and the molded plastic body is about 35 1/2 inches long (900mm) tip to tail. It comes disassembled, in a very well packed box with little chance, if any, of receiving broken parts. However, all parts are replaceable and can easily be found online or on ebay.
The plane includes:
- 4 channel Lanyu radio and receiver on the 27mhz band (you may get any channel from 1 to 6 - you don't get to choose). Radio also has delta V mix!
- 3 micro servos - 2 installed in the fuselage for elevator and rudder, and 1 that you must install in the wing for the ailerons (easy to do).
- Flight battery (9.6v 1100mah 2/3A NiMH rechargeable) and charger.
- 380 direct drive motor with folding propeller and spinner (installed) and an extra set of prop blades.
- 30 amp ESC/BEC.
- Rubber bands #64 (to attach the wing).
- Small phillips head screwdriver (the only tool you will need for assembly).
- Decals are pre-applied.
You must supply 8 AA size batteries for the transmitter (controller) - either alkaline or rechargeable nickel metal hydride (NiMH) will do. NiMH rechargeable batteries work great - use from 1200 to 2500 mah for best results. Don't forget to buy a battery charger for these batteries as the included charger is only for the battery in the plane.
Assembly is very simple - a 10 year old child can do it with a little supervision. The included manual is worded poorly (in pigeon English), but the pictures help out a lot.
NOTE - After assembly make sure to BALANCE THE PLANE BEFORE FLYING! This is CRITICAL, but this information is not shown in the manual. The CG (center of gravity) is 2 1/2 inches (65mm) back from the leading edge of the wing - exactly on the wing joiner. Move the battery backward or forward to achieve proper balance.)
CAUTION - Keep fingers away from the propeller - when spinning, it can severely cut even a strong adult finger.
There is a small red button on the side of the plane that must be pressed after the flight battery is connected, or the motor won't run. This is a SAFETY device so that you don't accidentally start the motor until ready.
The 380 motor and the included 1100 mah battery effortlessly fly the plane and give flight times of up to 30 minutes, even longer if you shut down the motor and glide on the wind occasionally.
The plane flies great. Loops, rolls, and spins are no problem. It is easy to launch and land and very durable for those not so perfect landings. Great for 14 and up. Be careful and have fun!

Butterfly Glider Assortment (4 dz) Review

Not only were the gliders flimsy - my son destroyed his in less than five minutes - all 12 gliders were bright red. They did not come in the assortment that was pictured & described but were all precisely identical to each other. They did not fly well. Most disappointing, they were not remotely as pretty as pictured. I do not recommend this item.

Estes Star Wars Naboo Royal Starship Catapult Flying Model Glider Review

(More customer reviews)To put it mildly, I am highly disappointed with Estes for producing this product, and with George Lucas for allowing them to put the Star Wars logo on this piece of junk! Next, I am disappointed with the actual product for once assembled it looks nothing like what is pictured on the outside of the box! Essentially, it is nothing but a paper airplane held together with glue! The glue is actually stronger than the flimsy cardstock on which the graphics are printed, and in places there are 13 layers of paper laminated together with glue to give it rigidity, while in other places there is only a single layer which makes it very easily damaged!
The printed graphics are also disappointing for they are a dull gray, rather than the mirror finish silver that is depicted on the box!
All things considered, it is understandable why this product has been discontinued and I sincerely doubt that this product has, or will ever have and appreciable value as a Star Wars Collectible!

Estes 2186 Eagle Boost Glider Flying Model Rocket Kit Review

(More customer reviews)This is pretty easy to assemble - can be done in 24 hours (there is some gluing which must dry before flying). Launched it with an A8-3 and it flew fine; it's rather on the heavy side (has some ball bearings in it for balance), so it probably only got 40 feet off the ground. It glided well. Then I tried it with a B6-5, I think it was, and it flew about 70 feet up, but also over to the side (the thing's just not as stable as a plain rocket). The longer pause before ejection was a problem - it barely popped before hitting the ground. I would use a four second delay, maximum. Overall, very cool to see it gliding. I don't think its life expectancy is too long, though - one good prang and it's a goner. Fun while it lasts, like cherry blossoms.

(More customer reviews)I have had two flights, fast but not super fast. I am still trying out props and adaptors looking for the right wattage for my setup. A 10x6 folding prop pulls about 300 watts, about where I want to be (a 9x6 fixed prop pulls about 400W). This was a time consuming build. A lot of fiberglass reinforcement has to be glued in slots provided on both the fuselage, wings and tail. All in all, I think I will be very happy with it. It is beautiful to look at, as fast as my skill level, and very stable in the sky. I recommend the "Blizzard" to anyone who has the patience and time to put two or three days into assembly. I think it is worth it.
