It is stuffed with a type of foam that leaves a dent for a while after you sit or put your feet on the stool. It does rock and swivel smooth enough, but the recline could be easier. Fairly easy to put together.
Edit!!!! I have had the chair for less than a year, and now the chair is BROKEN! I called ATHOMEMART to get a replacement and he said "I chose to do nothing". At Home Mart will NOT stand behind their products! DO NOT BUY FROM At Home Mart!!!!!!!

(More customer reviews)I bought this item from these people June 4th,07. Withing a VERY short time it began to squeak until I had to stop rocking.
I contacted these folks and they said they would respond asap. That has never happened.
They say theu give you 20 days to return the item but it takes at least that long to see if there actually is anything wrong with it. So you pay full price plus approximately 80.00 shipping and handling, tear your hands and arms up putting it together and in less than three months it has squeaked you deaf, leans to one side and rubs the pedastle. You contact these people and get a big sweet promise of helping you then you hear NOTHING. You, like me are out around 300. bucks so you be the judge.
These people are slow to get the item to you and they do not tell you the truth when they say they will 'get back to you asap'
I will NEVER buy anything else from them again. I didn't have that much money to throw away but it certainly looks like that is EXACTLY what has happened.
BUY From these people at your own risk.It is poorly constructed (not worth around 300.00)It is extremely small and tight. The foot rest walks when you rock with your feet up. JUNK!
AFTER WRITING THIS (THE NEXT DAY) I GET A PHONE CALL FROM THE COMPANY REP.
THEY ARE SENDING A REPLACEMENT CHAIR TO ME AND HAVING THE DEFECTIVE ONE PICKED UP BY FED EX AS SOON AS WE GET IT BOXED UP TO RETURN.
I WAS SURPRISED TO HEAR FROM THEM SINCE IT HAD BEEN ABOUT A WEEK SINCE I CONTACTED THEM BUT SINCE I HAVE INDEED HEARD FROM THEM I MUST RE-WRITE MY ASSESSMENT OF THE COMPANY WE RECIEVED THE CHAIR FROM AND THEIR ATTENTION TO THE PROBLEM I HAD AS WELL AS THE RESOLUTION OF THE PROBLEM.
BEING THAT THIS SOLUTION BOTH EXCEEDED THE RETURN TIME ORIGINALLY I HAVE TO SAY THAT IF ALL THEIR CUSTOMERS RECIEVE SUCH ATTENTION THEY ARE MOST CERTAINLY ASSURED MORE BUSINESS FROM NOT ONLY ME BUT OTHERS.

When they say "antique white" they mean it. It is dark cream at the very closest, so don't try to match this to any white furniture. The cushions feel a little stiff, but it is brand new. I was a little concerned the un-upholstered arms wouldn't be comfortable, but they are. It was very easy to assemble, and it seems very comfortable, and very quiet so far. After a paint job it will be perfect (hence the 4 stars). Aside from the color it is perfect.

(More customer reviews)I am relatively happy with this chair, but this wasn't the perfect recliner that I had been hoping for. In the spirit of full disclosure:
- First of all, shipping was over $80 (to IL), so the price listed is a bit misleading.
- The cushions are comfortable, but thin and rather stiff. Don't expect to sink into soft, cushy, leatherette heaven when sitting down.
- Finally, and most importantly, the recliner does not recline particularly far. You won't get anywhere near horizontal on this chair. It's comfortable, but think "economy airline seat" with respect to the angle to which it reclines. This chair is primarily a rocker- and it performs exellently in this respect.
Negatives aside, it's a fine chair. It seems to be very solidly built. It ships fast and is a comfortable rocker. My pets fight to nap on it. I risked ordering the "plum" color, because I wanted a darker chair that would fit in with a dark brown decor. It turns out that the "plum" color is essentially dark brown- with no hint of purple or red- which was perfect for me.
If you are not bothered by any of the issues I described above, then it would certainly be a solid choice.

(More customer reviews)When I got the chair I was a little skeptical when the frame came out of the box looking much like one of those outdoor chairs with the metal beams running through it, but surprisingly when it came together it was quite comfortable. The padding really makes the chair. Glides well and seems to handle my 240lb weight fine.
Just fyi the on the back the chair comes about halfway up the back of my head and the leatherette material seems kind of thin, so if you want genuine leather or vinyl you may not be happy with this particular chair. Also when it is in the full upright position it seems to make you feel like you're sitting slightly too far forward.
Also when it reclines, think of how a computer chair reclines as to how far back it goes. Not really that far, but with the ottoman is quite comfy.
I also noticed some comparible chairs people complain about the welds. This particular one is welded quite securely all the way around and doesn't have any bad welds.

(More customer reviews)The box arrived in bad condition. The sides were smashed and torn. There was a huge gash in the foot of the ottoman but I decided to live with that. It was easy to put together, however, as soon as we started rocking it began making a clacking noise. It sounded like wood hitting wood but we couldn't find any spots hitting. The material on the cushions was a lot lighter than the picture, almost a lime green, the material is very thin and snags easily. I have had a stork glider before. Not the same quality. Returning this one.
